Justin Rose could only shoot a one over par round and seemed to play in the worst of the conditions as he sits six shots behind leader Jordan Spieth at Augusta National.
The Englishman got off to a bad start. Although he birdied the third, he bogeyed holes four, five, six and made a double bogey on seven, which meant he entered the back nine three over for the day.
He started the back nine well and birdied 11, 13, 14 and 16 but with a bogey on 12 got him back to one over for the day and leaves him with an outside chance.

Rose told Sky’s Tim Barter how tough it was to play in that wind. He said: “I had no choice but to hang in there, the game has felt incredibly hard over the last couple of days.
“I played the first three holes really well today and I felt good about my game. It’s been really tough to judge the wind and anytime I have found myself outside 30 feet, I’ve been having a hard time gauging the speed.
“You feel like being bounced around in the wind and that distorts the process as you are really just trying to stay solid with the putter.”
