Jason Day is in contention at the RBC Heritage Open after a disappointing week at Augusta National.
The world number one could only shoot a four under 67 after five birdies and one bogey.
Day told the PGA Tour website: “I played some nice golf.
“I came out and nearly missed my tee time! I was looking at the wrong clock, but I walked over pretty quickly and hit my first down the middle of the fairway.
“With the most part I played very well, It obviously wasn’t the finish I wanted but I should not have been in that bunker in the first place, it was an unlucky break.
“Today was the easiest day and now we have some tough days coming up on Friday and Saturday with the wind but It should calm down again on Sunday. Right now I’m just going to try and get some sleep and try and improve on that tomorrow.”

Day continued on to talk about what it was like playing in the week after Augusta: “I wasn’t too pleased with how I was hitting it last week, especially on Sunday. So when I got in on Monday I went and practiced for about three and a half hours and got a good hitting session in which helped a lot with the confidence and knowing what I needed to do and that showed a little bit today.
“It’s always tough playing the week after a major championship. I did it last year after the Open and won the RBC Canadian championship so if I can do that, this shouldn’t be too hard right!”
