Donald looking forward to the weekend

Luke Donald is in a tie for second on five under par alongside, Scott Russell Knox, as he looks to win his first title since 2012.

The Englishman finished one under for his round after birdieing the second and fourth and bogeyed the par three 14th.

Donald told the PGA Tour.com that he relied on his short game. He said: “I had to (rely on his short game). I missed a couple of greens, especially on that front nine. I had a good up and down on 18, a good up and down on three and seven. I did have to lean on my short game today a little but my last nine holes was a lot better and I hope I can build if that tomorrow.”

Donald, who up and downed from a bunker for par from over a 100 feet away on seven continued to say: “hopefully we get a little sun tomorrow but I think it’s going to blowing again.

“It’s going to be a good test, nothing we haven’t seen over the last few days, hopefully, I can get hot on the greens and start rolling in a few birdies.”
