Luke Donald has said that it is dangerous to say a golf tournament owes you one, after another top five at the RBC Heritage yesterday.
It was an average day for Luke Donald, who took a one-shot lead into the final round but he just couldn’t get it going and as a result finished in a tie for second.
The 38-year-old could only card six straight pars to start. When he finally made a birdie on the seventh, he gave the shot back straight back on the next. But fortunately for Donald, he again birdied the ninth to get to eight under par.

Donald carded a bogey on the 10th hole to get back to level for the day at that was it from Donald who then carded eight straight pars to miss out on his first win in three years.
Donald told the PGA Tour.com : “Probably a little dangerous to say a place owes you.
“But certainly I’ve been knocking on the door many times at this event.
It was the windiest day, for sure. It makes certain shots very difficult. Almost impossible to go at the pin.”
If Donald would have won yesterday, it would have been his sixth win on the PGA Tour and his first in three years.

The Englishman went on talk about his goals for the rest of the year after another disappointment at the RBC Heritage.
He said: “My goals really are just to continue to play solid, get myself back in the top 50 (in the Official World Golf Ranking), hopefully, win some events again and get back and compete in majors and having chances to win.”
