Soomin Lee won his maiden title in Shenzen today and says he blew a chance in Malaysia but has made it now.
Lee resumed on Monday morning from the 14th hole in a tie at the top of the leaderboard with Alexander Levy and Lee Slattery.
The South Korean parred his first two holes (the 13th and 14th) before opening his birdie account with one on 16.
The new world number 127 managed to eagle the par five 17th in special fashion, to get him to 17 under for the tournament. Lee bogeyed the last but that couldn’t stop him taking the title.

Lee told the European Tour.com: “I got a big chance in Malaysia but I didn’t make it because I was really, really nervous. Now I made it.
“Yesterday I was really, really nervous. We had a lot of break times and then played again so that’s really good for me and I just thought about my golf and then competed until I could do it.
“I’m really happy and really excited. This is really good for me and really good for my golf life.

“First time European Tour winner in just six events. It was really incredible.
“I really, really want to play Europe so it’s good for me.”
