American golfer Justin Thomas secured the Honda Classic title after beating compatriot Luke List in a playoff in Florida, according to a report on BBC Sport.
The 24-year-old was tied with List on eight under par after four rounds but managed to get the upper hand over his rival in the first extra hole.

The win takes Thomas to a total of eight PGA Tour Titles and the American is confident that he can add some more to his trophy cabinet this year.
Thomas has now moved into third place in the Official World Golf Ranking list and this is the highest he’s been in his young career.
Thomas was pleased with the win but was quick to point out that it was a difficult test of ability and determination for him as he was pushed all the way to secure the victory.
He said:
This was a hard win. I tried to stay really patient out there. It was pretty nerve-wracking. It felt great to get it done.
I feel very confident in pretty much every part of my game right now. I just have really, really played well for a couple tournaments in a row now, which is great.
I hit some great drives this week when I needed to. Hit some really, really good irons. I hit some great wedges. I feel like my game is in a very good spot at the moment.
England’s Tommy Fleetwood applied some pressure towards the end but only managed to finish fourth.
