Justin Rose is feeling ready to have another go at capturing the extremely prestigious green jacket at the Masters.
In last year’s tournament, Rose was the unfortunate party in a sudden-death playoff with Sergio Garcia.
A one-time major winner (the US Open in 2013), the formerly number one ranked Rose has been taking time away from the game in the last few weeks, to concentrate on his lead-up to Augusta.
After staying away from tour events for four weeks, the 37-year-old will now compete in five of the next six weeks as he tries to make this year’s run at the classic competition a victorious one.

Speaking of his decision to take a break, Rose said:
There would have been a cost if I kept on pushing and I wanted to pay my debts before the invoice came in. It was with the Masters in mind, obviously. I feel fresh and ready to play into Augusta.
The Olympic gold medallist knows, however, that it won’t be an easy task to get back to where he was last year.
This new generation motivates me because I know I have to be my best. Last year, I actually finished first in the strokes-gained stats tee-to-green here and my mindset this time is to take those chances.
I feel like I’ve played in the last five months every bit as good as any one of them, so I take confidence in that,
