Tiger Woods will go into the weekend of the Valspar Championship just two shots off the lead after a superb second-round performance in Florida, as he continues to find some form ahead of his Masters return, BBC report.
The 42-year-old, who has had numerous injuries, including back surgery last year, shot a second round of 68 which moved him into a tie for second, sitting on four under overall.
Woods did manage to lead outright during his round when he made his fourth birdie at the fifth, however, he failed to reach the clubhouse as leader after carding a bogey on his final hole.
Meanwhile, it wasn’t such good news for Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy and America’s Jordan Spieth, who both failed to make the cut in Florida.
Despite missing the weekends play, McIlroy admitted he is ‘totally ready’ for the Masters at the Augusta National, the only major he is yet to win.
