Rory McIlroy has revealed that he is feeling confident going into the Masters Championship after securing his first win since 2016 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week, according to a report on the Belfast Telegraph.
The Irishman played a brilliant final round to seal a crucial victory heading into the Masters at Augusta.

The 28-year-old had a tough 2017 but has worked hard to get back to his best and his effort has now been rewarded with a morale-boosting victory.
McIlroy has moved up to seventh in the golf world rankings following the victory and he believes that he can win the Masters because of his brilliant knowledge of the course.
He said:
It’s huge for my confidence going into the next few weeks.
I kept saying I didn’t need a win going into Augusta to feel like I had a chance. I just wanted to see signs of good golf, but thankfully I’ve been able to get both here.
I’ve always believed in myself and I know that me being 100 per cent healthy is good enough to not just win on the PGA Tour but win a lot. I guess that’s what kept me going.
I never lost belief. I know that I’ve got a gift for this game and I know that if I put the time in I can make a lot of it.
With McIlroy and Tiger Woods both hitting form recently, we could be in for a fascinating Masters tournament this year.
