American golfer Tiger Woods has announced that he will participate in his own charity event this year, according to a report on Espn.
Woods began the tournament back in 2007 with money going towards his foundation but has not played in the event since 2015.

The tournament, which takes place in the Washington area, will be taking place this summer and the fact that Woods himself will be playing is likely to raise the profile of the event hugely.
Woods has won the event twice in his career and will be looking to add a third this year as he makes a positive return to the sport.
Woods has been in good form in the last few months and is finding his form at the perfect time, just before the Masters Championships at Augusta.
The golfer has stated how much this event means to him and it has also been confirmed that there is no sponsor this year, meaning the event will simply be called the National.
Kyle Stanley is the most recent winner of the event, which was called Quicken Loans National last year.
The tournament has found itself taking place at different stages of the year in recent times, but this year, the date has been set for June 25th to July 1st.
