Tiger Woods: ‘I’m a walking miracle’

Tiger Woods, a 14-time major winner, believes he is a “walking miracle” as he continues his preparation for the Masters, Sky Sports report.

The former world number one had spinal surgery last April, which was his fourth back operation in just three years and feared he might never play again after the ongoing issue.

However, since Woods’ return, he has found some good form and has been named as one of the favourites to win at Augusta next week, which will be his first appearance at the Masters since 2015.

Woods finished as a runner-up at the Valspar Championship which was the first of two top-five finishes in consecutive weeks on the PGA Tour.

Talking ahead of his Augusta return, Woods said:

I’m starting to put the pieces together, I got a second chance on life [with the spinal fusion surgery]. I am a walking miracle.

Woods played two practice rounds at Augusta National last week alongside fellow American Bryson DeChambeau and will be looking to squeeze in a few more rounds before the competition gets underway, with Woods searching for his first Green Jacket since 2005.
