Tommy Fleetwood and Chris Paisley make good start in pairs event

England pair Tommy Fleetwood and Chris Paisley made a good start at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans two-man team event, sitting two shots off the lead after the opening round, Sky Sports report.

The pair combined to card a 10-under-par 62 in Thursday’s fourballs to put them into third place.

Both Fleetwood and Paisley made two big putts each on the front nine to set the tone for the remainder of the round.

American’s Chez Reavie and Lucas Glover along with Chinese pair Xinjun Zhang and Zecheng Dou are currently in a share for the lead on -12 under par after rounds of 60.

The well known Ryder Cup pairing of England’s Justin Rose and Sweden’s Henrik Stenson are three shots off Fleetwood and Paisley on seven under par, alongside experienced golfers Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell and Englishman Ian Poulter.

Fleetwood and Paisley will be hoping to catch the leaders during Friday’s foursomes ahead of the weekends play.
