Tiger Woods to use new set of irons at Wells Fargo Championship

Tiger Woods has revealed that he will be moving on to a new set of irons for the Wells Fargo Championship and believes that it will turn out to be a good move, according to a report on the Express.

The new set of sticks are called TW Phase 1 and they were unveiled yesterday, with Woods posting on Instagram.

The sticks have been custom made by TaylorMade and Woods is excited to play with them for the first time.

Woods endured a difficult week at the Masters last month but is eager to get back on track and is searching for his first win since returning to action.

When speaking about the new irons, Woods said:

It’s not a big deal to me because I’ve been working on this for months and now I can hit the ball the correct numbers and the correct shape. It’s just a nice transition and a nice fit.”

After the Masters, my irons were getting a little worn as it was, so it’s good timing.

The 42-year-old four-time Major winner finished in 32nd place in the Masters, which was disappointing for him as he was considered as one of the favourites to push for the win.

This is his first visit back at the Wells Fargo Championship since 2012 and he will be hoping it is a successful one.
