Former world number one Tiger Woods recovered from a poor start to his second-round at The Open to salvage a round of 71 on day two, admitting after he is still in contention to win, despite being six shots back.
Woods, 42, made a poor start to his round in the rain on Friday and almost injured spectators with his wayward drive on the second.
The American found himself on two over on the front nine but did manage to claw his way back to level par with back-to-back birdies.

The 14-time major champion will be looking to make a major charge on ‘moving day’, with fellow American’s Zach Johnson and Kevin Kisner currently in a share of the lead.
Talking after his round, an excited Woods spoke about his opening two rounds, revealing he still is ‘right in it’.
I could have cleaned up the round just a little bit. I got off to not exactly the best start, being two over through three, but I got it back.
It will be a pretty packed leaderboard, and I’m certainly right there in it.
Woods, who is playing The Open for the first time since 2015, is joined on level par alongside fellow American Phil Mickelson.
