Six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo has admitted he would take Tiger Woods to this year’s Ryder Cup if it was his decision, but is unsure if he will ever win another major title.
Woods was the outright leader at the British Open for a short period on Sunday, however, a poor run on the back nine saw him fall into the chasing pack, with the American eventually finishing in a tie for sixth on five under.

Talking to the Daily Mail, golfing legend Faldo admitted he would include the 42-year-old in the Ryder Cup, believing the Matchplay format would play into Woods’ hands.
I’d be surprised if Tiger doesn’t make it now, given how far he has come over the last six months. When you think where he was at the last Ryder Cup, when he couldn’t get out of his golf cart, it’s amazing. Since it’s Matchplay, I think he would be very useful, so yes, I’d put him in.
Despite admitting he would take Woods to the Ryder Cup if it was his decision, Faldo was unsure to whether or not the 14-time major champion could add to his list in the future.
We’ll have to see. He had the lead before he made a mess of the 11th, which is understandable after so long away. But it’s still all about finishing them off, and that’s the great unknown right now.
With Woods now ranked 50th in the world after his impressive Open performance, we may see him in action at the end of September at Le Golf National for America.
