World number three Justin Thomas took control of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational after the third round and is now three shots clear of nearest rivals Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter, Sky Sports report.
Thomas managed to make six impressive birdies on a day where conditions had got worse for the players, however, the American also had three bogeys on his round in what turned out to be a solid card of 67.

McIlroy, a four-time major winner, also carded a round of 67 whereas Englishman Poulter, who was the overnight leader with Thomas, stayed on 11 under after a level par round.
It was bad news for fellow Englishman Tommy Fleetwood however, who started the round as joint leader, managed to end it seven shots adrift of Thomas after a round of four over 74.
14-time major winner Tiger Woods was also in the chasing back heading into the third round, but the former world number one carded a 73 to slip to three under, 11 shots off the leader.
