Bryson DeChambeau is riding high after his victory at the Northern Trust last weekend.
The 24-year-old won by four shots in New Jersey, in what was a commanding performance in the first PGA Tour playoff event of the year.

With the Ryder Cup on the horizon, it should have come as little surprise to the Californian that Team USA captain Jim Furyk sent him a congratulatory message int he immediate aftermath of his fourth round on Sunday.
The Golf Channel report DeChambeau as saying:
He [Furyk] texted me congratulations, so that was very nice of him. And hopefully I can see him soon,
Will that be enough to warrant a place on the team? DeChambeau is confident in his performances, but knows it’s out of his hands.
I finished one out of the top 8 [automatic qualifiers]. I won a playoff event. I have had a great year,
Would I say it’s enough for the captain? That’s up to his discretion. Again, it’s still one more week.

DeChambeau was also grilled about the possibility of playing with Tiger Woods at Le Golf National in Paris, and it was a prospect that heavily intrigued the SMU alumnus.
It would be an honour to play with him, [Woods]
I think we could have some great chemistry out there and hopefully maybe intimidate some people, that would be nice.
Team Europe will be trying to win the famed trophy back on home soil, after the Americans stormed to victory in 2016.
