Former world number one Tiger Woods has described 2018 as ‘one of my best years’ and remains hopeful of making Jim Furyk’s Ryder Cup team as a player, Pro Golf Now report.
Despite winning no majors or no PGA Tour events, Woods has looked in fine form since returning from a back problem.
The 42-year-old had two great chances of making it major number 15, with the American falling just short at The Open and the PGA Championship in recent months.

However, talking to the media at the Dell Technologies Championship, Woods admitted he was pleased with his accomplishments this season and is hopeful of appearing at the Ryder Cup for an eighth time.
I would have taken this in a heartbeat. You have a chance to win two major championships, you’ll be in the playoffs, and you’re right there to be on the Ryder Cup team. All of these things at the beginning of the year were all unknowns.
This has been one of my best years, considering that I didn’t know what I was going to do. The fact that I’ve been able to make it this far is very exciting to me. I have a bright future ahead of me because at this point last year that wasn’t the case, didn’t know. But now I know that I sort of have a bright future.
The 14-time major champion, who has decided to change putters recently, is currently +1 at the Dell Technologies Championship after his opening round, seven shots behind leader Justin Rose, as he looks to catch the eye of USA captain Furyk ahead of his wildcard picks on Tuesday.
