Tearful Tiger Woods “can’t believe” Tour Championship win

Tiger Woods secured his first win in five years as he emerged victorious at the season-ending Tour Championship, according to a report on Talksport.

The American has made one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history following a lengthy spell away from the golf course due to multiple back surgeries.

Woods could barely walk just one year ago and didn’t even dream of winning in his first year back. However, He picked up his 80th career PGA title with a brilliant performance in Atlanta and is going into the Ryder Cup full of confidence.

The 42-year-old carded a closing 71 to finish 11 under par, two shots ahead of fellow American Billy Horschel.

When speaking after the victory, he said:

I was having a hard time not crying on that last hole. After Rory tapped in I started tearing up a little bit. I just can’t believe I’ve pulled this off. It’s been tough.

I’ve had it not so easy the last couple of years and worked my way back and couldn’t have done it without the help of everyone around me. Some of the players I saw after on the 18th green knew what I was struggling with and it was really special to see them there.

It’s just hard to believe I’ve won the Tour Championship.

Woods admitted last week that winning the Tour Championship would enhance his successful return to golf and that’s exactly what it has done.
