Grant Forrest will defend his Nexo Championship title at Trump International Golf Links from August 20-23 after the DP World Tour confirmed the Scot in the field for the event’s return to Aberdeenshire.
The announcement gives the tournament an immediate home-soil hook, with Forrest set to go back to the venue where he won by four shots last summer. The event is again being staged at Trump International, and the DP World Tour has framed the 2026 edition around the defending champion’s return.
Forrest Return Gives Scottish Event Its Headline Name
Forrest’s 2025 victory was significant because it added a second DP World Tour title to his record and came in front of a Scottish crowd. His management profile notes that the Livingston-born player has two DP World Tour wins and says he began 2026 with a tie for sixth at the Bahrain Championship.
That makes this more than a routine field update. Forrest arrives as the player with the clearest connection to the tournament, the course and the home audience, while the August date gives Scottish golf another late-summer marker after the major season. For the organisers, his presence immediately gives the week a defending-champion storyline.
The confirmation was published in a fresh DP World Tour update on Forrest’s title defence.
