Patrick Reed will begin the DS Automobiles 83° Open d’Italia alongside Francesco Molinari and Guido Migliozzi in one of the opening round’s headline groups.
The DP World Tour confirmed the draw on Tuesday, placing the Race to Dubai leader with two home favourites for the first two rounds at Circolo Golf Club Torino. According to the official DP World Tour tee-time update, Reed starts from the tenth tee at 07:50 on Thursday.
Reed gets a high-profile Italy test
The grouping gives the tournament an immediate focal point. Reed arrives as world number 29 and the leading player in the field, while Molinari brings local knowledge as a member at the host venue and a two-time winner of the event.
Migliozzi adds another Italian draw to the three-ball, making the early Thursday slot one of the clearest crowd-pullers of the opening round.
For Reed, the assignment is also a response opportunity after missing the cut at last week’s US PGA Championship. With Casey Jarvis, Adrien Saddier, Joaquin Niemann and Luke Donald also named in notable groups, the Italian Open has enough early texture to feel more than a routine stop in the European Swing.
The key for editors is the Thursday morning contrast: Reed’s ranking pressure, Molinari’s home-course pull and Migliozzi’s Italian support all meet in one tee time.
