Jeunghun Wang to defend title in Qatar

Jeunghun Wang is all set to defend his title at the Qatar Masters this weekend.

The tournament, that takes place at the Doha Golf Club is one of the most prestigious on the European Tour, and familiar faces will be battling it out over the links in the desert.

Wang won last year’s tournament on a playoff, with Jaco van Zyl of South Africa and Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren the unfortunate parties.

Previous champions include Sergio Garcia, Chris Wood, Paul Lawrie, Adam Scott, and Henrik Stenson.

There will be a distinct Ryder Cup presence over the course of the week as well, with Team Europe captain Thomas Bjorn being joined by his vice-captain Robert Karlsson.

Indeed, a good performance here might land a golfer in good stead with the relevant parties, and increase the prospects of receiving a card to play in the Ryder Cup.

With a prize fund of $2,500,000, there is serious opportunity to expand one’s purse in Qatar this week.
