Golf’s great and good gather for exclusive tournament

The Seminole pro-member event took place at the Seminole Golf Club in Florida yesterday, with a stacked list of entrants.

Featuring billionaire businessmen, scintillating amateurs, and four of the top five golfers in the world, this one day competition in Juno Beach had its doors closed to the public.

PGA champion Justin Thomas was in attendance, along with world number one Dustin Johnson, plus Rory McIlroy and Ricky Fowler.

The pairings included a pro with an amateur, and there were many eye-opening duos, including the father-son McIlroy team, and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald partnering Jon Rahm.

Not to be found on the tour calendar, you could still expect the pros and amateurs alike to treat this exhibition with ferocity, keen to get one over their colleagues.

Daniel Berger and Tom Wall reportedly won the gross competition with a best ball of 64, as Nick Watney and Sam Reeves won the net competition with a round of 60.
